Frequently asked questions

I work with teens to older adults (15-65) from all walks of life—regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, or background. My ideal client is someone ready to lean in, get curious, and stay engaged in their healing journey.

Nothing specific. I just ask for you to show up as you are. My role is not to change or control you, but to help you better understand your challenges in order to find the resources that are going to best help you achieve your mental health goals.

Great question! Three words that clients often describe Alicia are: relatable, empathetic and genuine. Check out her clients testimonials (located at the bottom of this page), as well as her Google Business page with lots of client and peer reviews!

All credit cards, debit cards, FSA and HSA cards are accepted. Cash and Venmo (@Wildstrengththerapy) are also an acceptable form of payment.

At this time, Wild Strength Therapy accepts Aetna and United Healthcare insurance plans with limited availability for insurance-based sessions. Insurance billing is processed through a secure third-party billing system. For all other insurance providers, Alicia is considered an out-of-network (OON) provider, and Medicaid is not accepted.
Choosing to remain out of network with most insurance companies allows for a more personalized and privacy-focused therapy experience. Insurance providers typically require a mental health diagnosis in order to approve coverage, and that diagnosis becomes part of your permanent medical record. While some clients are comfortable using their insurance benefits, others prefer greater confidentiality and flexibility in their care.
For clients seeking out-of-network reimbursement, Wild Strength Therapy can provide a monthly Superbill that may be submitted directly to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your individual plan and benefits.
-
A superbill is a document made for insurance companies that details the services a therapist or health care provider performed for a client. People often underestimate how much of their superbills are eligible for reimbursement. For more information go to: https://www.thesuperbill.com/blog/what-is-a-superbill or check out my blog on superbills here.

Yes, I have a 24 hour cancellation and/or reschedule policy. I allow for one free cancellation within the allotted 24 hours, as I know unpredictable life events happen. After the one time freebie, all cancellations or reschedules within 24 hours of the session will be billed the full session fee.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy approach designed to help people heal from trauma, anxiety, distressing memories, and other overwhelming life experiences. EMDR therapy helps the brain process and reframe difficult experiences so they feel less emotionally intense and disruptive over time.
Through guided techniques and bilateral stimulation, clients can begin to heal, build resilience, and move forward with greater clarity, safety, and emotional balance.
At Wild Strength Therapy, Alicia views EMDR therapy in two important phases. Phase 1 focuses on building awareness, safety, and stability by helping clients better understand their nervous system, develop regulation tools and coping strategies, and recognize how trauma is stored and expressed within the body.
Phase 2 involves the reprocessing of distressing memories and experiences. Once a strong foundation has been established, clients can begin working through unresolved trauma in a supportive and structured way, allowing for deeper healing and lasting change.

“IFS-informed” means therapy is influenced by Internal Family Systems (IFS), a therapeutic approach that views the mind as made up of different “parts” or inner experiences. Rather than seeing these parts as problems, IFS helps clients understand them with curiosity and compassion. This approach can support healing from trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, and negative self-beliefs by helping clients build a stronger attachment to themselves and their emotions, which in turn helps clients to feel more connected to other people.
While Alicia is not formally IFS certified, she has years of experience integrating an IFS-informed approach into her work with clients. Through this lens, she helps clients better understand the different parts of themselves that may hold pain, protection, fear, shame, or past trauma. Rather than judging these internal experiences, Alicia supports clients in approaching them with curiosity, compassion, and greater self-awareness. -
A therapy intensive is an extended therapy session or series of sessions designed to help clients make deeper, more focused progress in a shorter amount of time. Unlike traditional weekly therapy, intensives allow for longer sessions that create space to fully explore and process trauma, anxiety, relationship patterns, life transitions, or other ongoing challenges without feeling rushed.
At Wild Strength Therapy, therapy intensives are tailored to each client’s unique goals and needs. Intensives may incorporate EMDR therapy, nervous system regulation, and IFS-informed approaches to support deeper healing and lasting change. Many clients find intensives especially helpful when they feel “stuck” in traditional therapy, want focused support around a specific issue, or are looking to accelerate their healing process in a safe and intentional way.
Therapy intensives are available both in-person in Lone Tree, Colorado, and online for clients throughout Colorado.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit http://www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059
