Hi, I’m ALicia Rippy.

I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a Colorado native and former school counselor turned private practice therapist based in Lone Tree. After earning my BS in Psychology from Colorado State and an MA in School Counseling from Adams State, I spent years working with youth and families across schools, residential treatment programs, and beyond. These experiences shaped how I show up in the therapy room today: grounded, compassionate, and committed to meeting each person exactly where they are.

In 2021, I opened Wild Strength Therapy to create a space where clients of all ages—especially those who’ve tried therapy before—could feel genuinely seen and supported. Outside of work, I’m happiest hiking, reading, puzzling, or laughing with my two creative kids, my hilarious husband, and our two cozy cats. My work is rooted in connection, curiosity, and helping you feel safe enough to explore your story with honesty and heart.

Discover, explore & EMBRACE Your inner strengths.

A Safe Space for Growth

MY APPROACH

Therapy is a courageous step toward becoming a more authentic version of yourself. Healing happens when you feel safe, supported, and understood. I don’t promise quick fixes or a journey without discomfort, but I do promise to show up, validate your experience, and stay curious with you.

The Foundation of Healing

SAFETY & CONNECTION

For some, feeling safe and connected may be unfamiliar. For others, it’s not their main focus. But understanding how safety and connection shape our relationships, behaviors, and sense of self is the key to long-term healing.

Through therapy, we move from “What’s wrong with me?” to “What happened to me?”—helping you develop a deeper, more compassionate understanding of your experiences.

Recognizing Your Story

TRAUMA & HEALING

Trauma isn’t just about extreme events—it’s about experiences that affect your ability to feel safe and whole. Whether it’s a “big T” trauma (abuse, neglect, war) or “small t” trauma (relationship struggles, financial stress), these experiences shape you. Together, we work through them so they no longer define you.

How We Work Together

A Personalized Approach

Sunset lighting on a rugged mountain peak with green forest at the base and a partly cloudy sky
Two people sitting and talking, with one person wearing a denim jacket and the other person's hands visible clasped together in their lap.
Sunlight shining through the branches of a tree, creating beams of light and mist or smoke in the air.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I tailor therapy using evidence-based methods, including:

EMDR: A memory-based therapy that helps process and release past trauma.

IFS (Parts Work): A method that fosters healing by reconnecting with different parts of yourself.

CBT: A tool for recognizing thought patterns and reshaping your mindset.

Somatic & Attachment Therapy: Approaches that focus on healing through body awareness and relationships.

Wilderness & Nature Therapy: A way to tap into nature’s healing power for deeper self-discovery.

The People I Support

Who I Work With

I work with teens to older adults (15-65) from all walks of life—regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, or background. My ideal client is someone ready to lean in, get curious, and stay engaged in their healing journey.

If you’re ready to start this journey toward greater self-awareness, resilience, and connection, I’d love to support you. Let’s work together.

People hike on a rocky trail through a mountainous landscape under a cloudy sky during sunset.
  • View of the Grand Canyon with layered rock formations, trees on the edges, and a clear blue sky.

I have a 15 year old son who I struggle to connect with. I found Alicia’s experience with school counseling and my own parenting needs met with compassion, knowledge, and understanding through her private practice. I would highly recommend her to work with parents, as much as I would trust her to work with my son.

    C, 45, male

  • Night sky with a visible the Milky Way galaxy and a meteor streaking across the sky over a lake surrounded by trees.

Alicia allows me to be who I am. She accepts and applauds me, without judgement, for who I am. She is fun and friendly and holds me accountable. She allows me to go where I need to during our sessions, and will also provide suggestions if I need to see or move in a different direction. She has truly made me come to believe that it’s never too late to get to know yourself better.

  • Mountain peak at sunset with orange sky in the background.

I highly recommend Alicia! Alicia is incredibly understanding and intuitive. I have worked with several therapists and I have stayed with her because of how safe of a space she provides. I talk about things with her I have never talked to with anyone else because of how inviting Alicia makes it. She never makes me feel obligated to talk, and yet, I find myself opening up to her because of how safe it feels. Alicia is creative in how she helps conceptualize my problems and would highly recommend her (and already have) to friends and family.

    K, 35, female, LGBTQIA+

  • Snow-capped mountain range with a yellow shrub-covered field in the foreground under a partly cloudy sky.

Before coming to Alicia I often felt alone and crazy. Alicia has been so honest with her own mental health issues and has made me feel seen and heard more than any other therapist I’ve been to. She is relatable, friendly, and without her, I would not be coping as well as I am with life.

    - E, 21, female

  • Sunset over a mountain range with layers of dark silhouettes, bright orange and yellow sky, and distant snow-capped peaks.

Without Alicia I would be in a negative space constantly. Alicia makes it easy to talk about anything I’m struggling with. She is knowledgeable, she’s resourceful, and provides helpful feedback. I have learned so many new coping skills, and find them easy enough to use to get through my day.

    - A, 42, female

  • Mountain range with snow-capped peaks under a clear sky at night.

Alicia is very empathetic and does a fantastic job mirroring emotion. She gives me the space to sit with whatever emotion I’m in without trying to change it. She’s like a long, lost friend that I can just pick right back up with every time we meet. She’s truly a rockstar therapist!

    - S, 30, male

  • Mountain range at dusk with snow-capped peaks in the background and reddish-illuminated slopes in the foreground under a cloudy sky.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started counseling. Alicia has helped teach me breathing skills and we do more than just talk. We color, play games, and sometimes just listen to music if I don't feel like talking.

    -N, 14, female

  • Snow-covered mountain range at sunset with colorful sky and scattered clouds.

Alicia is client-centered. She gives me the space to work out my own problems, but provides different strategies and methodologies (IFS, EMDR) to help me find the best way through. She has a wealth of knowledge and I appreciate that she comes to every session with empathy and an openness to help.

    - C, 23, male

  • View of a deep canyon with tall, reddish-brown cliffs and a green valley below, under a partly cloudy sky.

Alicia is very wise and knowledgeable. She doesn’t judge me or others. She laughs at my overly-sarcastic humor and makes me feel heard. Alicia always tells me, not necessarily what I want to hear, but what I need to hear. When I talk to her it feels like I’m talking to a friend.

    -T, 18, non-binary

  • Scenic view of a mountainous landscape with snow-capped peaks, a waterfall, lush green and reddish forest, and a partly cloudy sky.

I have nothing but great things to say about Alicia. She’s a fantastic counselor and helped me with some things I didn’t think I’d be able to get through. She’s authentic, has great reasoning skills, and our sessions helped me become more confident in my understanding of self and my own challenges.

    - J, 27, male

  • Night sky filled with stars and the Milky Way galaxy above dark mountain silhouettes.

I have been with Alicia since 2022. She is incredible. She has worked with me specifically regarding being a single mom, career challenges, relationship conflicts, childhood wounds, and literally anything I bring to her office that week. She actively listens and helps walk you through the emotions/feelings/thoughts one might be experiencing and challenges you to dig a bit deeper. Alicia and I have worked together through EMDR therapy, Internal Family therapy, meditation, and talk therapy when I REALLY need to work through a specific situation. She brings experience, empathy, compassion, and insight every single time. Highly recommend Alicia if you have ever struggled in the past to connect to a therapist.
